READ WHAT OUR CHOIR MEMBERS HAVE TO SAY!

‘I have so much fun every week in Nailsworth Voices. I have been part of this group for a year and it is very friendly, warm and inclusive – you will be welcomed. Singing is known to bring joy to the heart, exercise to the lungs and confidence to the mind – the idea that you may have that you cannot sing will be banished as you hear yourself sing in a group in harmony with others. For me it brings a great sense of freedom. We sing together and laugh together. We leave with our worries a little lighter – it’s a wonderful tonic indeed!’
— Ruby - Nailsworth Voices

‘Everything I love about the joy of singing is demonstrated in Biddy’s wonderful sessions. Her enthusiasm and style of teaching enables everyone to sing to their full potential, have a lot of laughs and build a sense of community. Also, we sound pretty good after a few rehearsals and the sense of pride and excitement in the group is palpable. Everyones’ spirits are raised after our session and we can’t wait for the next one'!’

Having moved to Nailsworth, we were delighted when a new a cappella choir formed for those people who love singing but cannot read music. Nailsworth Voices is that choir and we have loved every one of our several years of being members. So much so, in fact, that when the opportunity to join another of Biddy’s choirs at Amberley arose, we jumped at the chance. Each choir is unique with an individual atmosphere but each share the following elements: we have fun, we laugh a lot, we have made good friends because everyone is so friendly and we have Biddy to inspire us to sing beyond the point of what we thought we could do. Plus, we do actually sound good and its great to produce harmony from your first session. Our repertoire is wide and varied, from folk to modern, from choral to pop songs but everything is taught simply and patiently. We would be lost without having this special outlet which raises our spirits and kept us going through the pandemic too. It was a lifesaver and still is the highlight of our week.
